Frequently Asked Questions

Before we talk, this might help you answer a few questions.
What should I wear?

Great question.  What you wear on the day of your shoot will go a long way toward creating the right look and feel for your pictures.

I like to talk about the 6 P’s. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Photos.  The fact that you’re reading this tells me you are a planner, so we are off to a good start.

A general rule is to coordinate without being too matchy-matchy.   Find pictures you like by using resources like Pinterest.  Be yourself, choose themes and colors that you like. Also, think about how you want to use the pictures.  For example, do you want a family portrait for a particular room in your house?  If so, you might have a particular color or accent color that you’d like to feature.

Choose a color palette that works well together.  Accessories can be a great way to bring in pops of color. However, be careful not to over-accessorize as this can distract from the main subject – You!

Don’t forget details like shoes.  Sneakers generally aren’t going to cut it unless it’s for a very specific look.

Avoid wearing logos or other distracting elements.  Also, if your getting a new hairstyle or haircut, schedule this a week  or two before your shoot so it has time to grow out (or for you to get used to it).

Before your shoot, we’ll talk more about what to wear and I can answer any of your questions.

How many images will I get?

That depends on your package.  However, you’ll notice that I take quite a few more pictures than you end up seeing.  As you can imagine, not every photo is a “keeper,” whether it be  wrong exposure, missed focus, a blink, I go through your shoot to choose the best images to process, retouch and deliver to you.

When will I get my pictures?

This depends on your particular shoot.  However, in most cases, you will receive your images within two weeks.  I’ll also give you a preview of a few images within a couple days of your shoot.
